Star Trek: Discovery has always balanced the ship’s mission and weekly conflicts with the crew’s personal lives: Captain Burnham’s affair with a Klingon sleeper agent, Stamets (Anthony Rapp) and Culber (Wilson Cruz)’s marriage, Adira (Blu del Barrio)’s relationship with Gray (Ian Alexander). Last season, fans were thrilled when it looked like Commander Saru (Doug Jones) would get his own shot at romance with Vulcan President T’rina (Tara Rosling).

Season five finds the galaxy’s favorite power couple juggling love, service and politics. During a recent interview with the press, SciFi Vision asked actor Doug Jones how Saru is going to blend his Kelpian instincts with T’rina’s strict logic.

David Ajala, who plays Cleveland Booker was also part of the interview.
