SciFi Vision recently spoke with series creator, executive producer, and writer, Gemma Burgess, as well as executive producer and writer, Meredith Glynn, about adapting the series from the book by Cynthia Hand. During the interview they spoke about why they wanted to make the series, what they kept from the book and what they changed, the music in the series, and more.

Food. Italy. Love. Three amazing things that come together in the latest Hallmark movie, Two Scoops of Italy.

The movie, which features Hunter King as Chef Danielle, follows a young chef to Italy, where she tries to find inspiration after losing her restaurant and passion for the culinary business. While there, she meets Giancarlo (Michele Rosiello), who becomes a tour guide, friend and….more? You will need to tune in to find out! 

In an exclusive interview with SciFi Vision, King talked about how she got to travel on location for the movie, making the experience that much better. 

“It was filmed in Italy, just all outside of Rome, at just the most beautiful, romantic places you've ever seen, just as charming in real life as they look on screen,” she shared. “It was incredible. I mean, a lot of things don't film where they're really set, and I was lucky enough to get a movie that was actually filmed in Italy, and it was amazing.”

Tonight’s all-new episode of Doctor Who, “Empire of Death,” brought an end to the season, as well as the storylines surrounding both the mystery of Ruby (Millie Gibson)’s mother and the arrival of Sutekh, while also posing some new questions. In the episode, Sutekh revealed his plans, which was to turn everyone on every planet the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) ever visited to dust. It started out as a bit of a shock when first Kate (Jemma Redgrave) and everyone at UNIT, and then subsequently, Ruby’s family, as well as even Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson) were killed. Eventually the whole planet was wiped out, leaving it up to the Doctor, Ruby, and Mel (Bonnie Langford) to find a way to bring them back. It all culminated when the Doctor realized that Sutekh wouldn’t kill them until he learned the secret of Ruby’s birth mother’s identity, which Ruby used to lure him close enough for them to hook him to the TARDIS and pull him into the time vortex, where the Doctor could use death to kill death and therefore bring back life.

First let me say, the beats of the episode and the way it was shot made it feel very exciting, and as always, Gatwa and Gibson were a treat. Bringing Mel into the mix to round out the trio made it even better.

The set of the Remembered TARDIS was extremely cool and one of my favorite parts of the episode. I absolutely loved how it was filled with memories from the series, like pieces of the Doctor’s old costumes, and many other little references for fans. There were even some other outright references to old episodes outside of it, with the Doctor saving the world with a spoon, as well as Mrs. Flood calling him a “Clever Boy.”

Thursday, the newest episode of Criminal Minds: Evolution drops on Paramount Plus. The crime series follows the Behavioral Analysis Unit as they track the most heinous of serial killers. This season, the team is being forced to work with Elias Voit (Zach Gilford), who has been transferred back to local federal custody after negotiating a deal, to hopefully shed some light on the mysterious Gold Star.

Recently, SciFi Vision spoke with showrunner Erica Messer about working on the series, which she has been a part of for nineteen years, how it has changed her life, and much more.

Yesterday, Hotel Cocaine premiered on MGM Plus. The series tells of Roman Compte (Danny Pino) Cuban exile and manager of the Miami Mutany Hotel in the 70s and early 80s where it is the glamorous and glitzy center of the cocaine scene in the city. The nightclub, restaurant, and hotel were often visited by not only drug traffickers, businessman, politicians, and celebrities, but even law enforcement. Compte is at the center, reaching for his American dream, but it has the potential to all come crashing down when DEA Agent Zulio (Michael Chiklis) threatens his family and way of life, if he doesn’t help him catch his brother, drug dealer Nestor Cabal (Yul Vazquez).

Recently, SciFi Vision spoke with stars Corina Bradley, who plays Valeria, Compte’s daughter, Tania Watson, who plays his wife, Marisol, and Laura Gordon who plays Janice Nichols, the head of the Mutiny Girls, as well as creator, Chris Brancato, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer, and Guillermo Navarro, who also executive produces and directed the pilot.

Today, My Life is Murder returns to both Acorn TV and BBC America with the first two episodes of the eight episode fourth season. The series follows private investigator Alexa Crowe (Lucy Lawless) as she solves murders with the help of her tech guru Madison (Ebony Vagulans).

Recently, star Lawless spoke with SciFi Vision about the cases that fans can expect this time around, Alexa confronting her past this season, hanging out with the cast, difficulties in working with cats, if she would want to direct on the series, what she would be doing if she wasn’t acting, and much, much more.

On tonight’s penultimate episode of this season of Doctor Who, “The Legend of Ruby Sunday,” the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and Ruby (Millie Gibson) head to UNIT to try to find the truth of her past, as well as the identity of the mystery woman, Susan Triad (Susan Twist), who has appeared in every episode of the season. Opening a time window at UNIT, they recreate the Christmas Eve when the Doctor found Ruby from an old surveillance video, but there is something there that shouldn’t be. Can they figure out what truly happened and how it connects to Triad Technology before it’s too late?

This definitely once again felt like a classic, though more serious, episode of the series. Both Gatwa and Ncuti shined. I also appreciated that the Doctor once again jumped headfirst into danger, knowing that it was likely a trap, although it was also refreshing to see him learn that there can be consequences for that as well.

The darkly funny drama Blue Lights returns to Britbox today with the first two episodes of season two. The procedural police drama, set in Northern Ireland, follows three probatory officers, Grace (Sian Brooke), Tommy (Nathan Braniff), and Annie (Katherine Devlin), and those who train and work with them. In the second season, after the fall of the McIntyre crime gang in season one, rival gangs are competing to take over. DS Murray Canning (Desmond Eastwood) of the paramilitary crime task force comes in to help with the increase in crime and tries to bring Tommy into the world of intelligence policing. Also introduced is new responder, Constable Shane Bradley (Frank Blake), who sparks Annie’s interest, but his motivations are unclear. Meanwhile, Grace must deal with her growing feelings for her coworker and fellow officer Stevie Neil (Martin McCann).

Recently, Braniff, Brooke, and Devlin spoke with SciFi Vision about their characters’ love interests this season, how the introduction of DS Canning affects their jobs and the team, how some of the events of the first episode of the second season will effect the characters moving forward, and more.

<br/ >On tonight’s all new episode of Doctor Who, “Rogue,” the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and Ruby (Millie Gibson) travel to a Regency ball in 1813 in Bath where they encounter shape shifting bird-like aliens called Chuldurs who are killing guests at the party to take over their identities. While investigating, the Doctor discovers a bounty hunter who calls himself Rogue (Jonathan Groff), who thinks that the Doctor is one of them.

To me, this episode felt like a classic Doctor Who episode – finally! With the past two weeks being Doctor-lite, it was a great relief to get more of Gatwa. Surprisingly, however, we got less of his partnership with Ruby in this one, but it’s not to the detriment of the episode. The two still get plenty of scenes together later in the episode, and when they split up, it gives Ruby a chance to explore on her own. It’s is fun to watch her delight entering a Bridgerton-esque fantasy world and interacting with those of the era, her anachronisms making her stand out.

Meanwhile, the Doctor goes off to investigate on his own when he follows the sonar interference and runs into Rogue. Their banter really works as they seem evenly matched in wit. I absolutely loved the silly side of the Doctor in the scene with him continuing to turn on Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” in Rogue’s ship and lip syncing and moving to the beat. I was a little surprised to see a flirty Doctor, but I didn’t mind it; it was a cute scene, especially when he gets flustered that his psychic papers say “You’re hot.”
