Beyond explanation … beyond understanding … lies the truth. This character-driven genre thriller follows a police chief who takes in a young child she finds near the site of a mysterious accident who has no memory of what has happened. The investigation draws her into a conspiracy larger than she ever imagined, and the child’s identity is at the center of it all. In the series premiere, “Pilot,” Jo Evans (Allison Tolman), a whip-smart police chief, plunges her family into a deepening mystery when she discovers a young girl (Alexa Swinton) the night of an inexplicable plane crash in the quiet northeastern town and decides to protect her. Who is this child? Where did she come from and what does she know? Benny Gallagher (Owain Yeoman), an investigative reporter, intrudes into Jo’s inquiry with his own take on the shadowy evidence.

The enchanting world of Thra came alive at Netflix’s New York premiere screening of Jim Henson’s “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance” on Tuesday, August 27 at the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI). The evening kicked off with a star-studded purple carpet where voice-over cast members, Keegan-Michael Key, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jason Isaacs, Hannah-John Kamen and Donna Kimball, along with Lisa Henson (Executive Producer and CEO & President of The Jim Henson Company), Louis Leterrier (Executive Producer and Director), co-executive producers and writers, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, and Ted Biaselli (Director, Original Series at Netflix) were in attendance. 

The event continued with a pre-screening reception where attendees were given a special advance sneak-peek of the spectacular puppets (featured in the series), from the Jim Henson exhibit at the MOMI entitled “Creatures from the Land of Thra: Character Design for The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,” which officially opens on September 11 and continues through February 23. The exhibit will explore the design process behind the series’ fantastical characters, featuring puppets, maquettes, design material and behind-the-scenes images from the new Netflix series that offers a prequel to the 1982 film co-directed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz. 

The reception was followed by a screening of the first episode of the highly anticipated series, with opening remarks by Ted Biaselli (Director, Original Series at Netflix) and Leterrier (Executive Producer and Director). The evening concluded with a panel discussion between Henson, Leterrier, Grillo-Marxuach, Addiss and Matthews, moderated by Isaacs, who kept the audience laughing throughout the conversation.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – July 25, 2019 – AMC Networks announced today from the Television Critics’ Association (TCA) Press Tour premiere dates for several new and returning original series, including IFC’s Baroness von Sketch Show, which has been picked up for a fifth season, and programming events, including AMC’s FearFest and newly expanded Best Christmas Ever holiday celebration, which will air across all of AMC Networks.

As previously announced, at Comic-Con last weekend, the milestone 10th season of The Walking Deadpremieres on Sunday, October 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. CT.

The session included an exclusive first look at this riveting television adaptation based on the critically acclaimed film of the same name. Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a 1001 car, perpetually moving train that circles the globe. The series will premiere in Spring 2020 on TBS.

HULU ENTERS THE GALAXY AS SETH MACFARLANE’S EMMY-NOMINATED, HIT SCI-FI SERIES THE ORVILLE TAKES OFF AS NEW HULU ORIGINAL
 
Season Three of The Orville To Stream Exclusively On Hulu in 2020 
 
(San Diego, CA) July 20, 2019 – Emmy Award-winning actor, animator, filmmaker, musical artist and comedian Seth MacFarlane announced today at San Diego Comic-Con that the Emmy-nominated fan-favorite, sci-fi series The Orville will move to Hulu exclusively for its upcoming third season. The Seth MacFarlane-created series will hit the streaming service as a Hulu Original in late 2020.
 
“The Orville has been a labor of love for me, and there are two companies which have supported that vision in a big way: 20th Century Fox Television, where I’ve had a deal since the start of my career, and FOX Broadcasting Company, now FOX Entertainment, which has been my broadcast home for over 20 years. My friends at the network understood what I was trying to do with this series, and they’ve done a spectacular job of marketing, launching and programming it for these past two seasons. But as the show has evolved and become more ambitious production-wise, I determined that I would not be able to deliver episodes until 2020, which would be challenging for the network. So we began to discuss how best to support the third season in a way that worked for the show. It’s exactly this kind of willingness to accommodate a show’s creative needs that’s made me want to stick around for so long. I am hugely indebted to Charlie Collier and FOX Entertainment for their generosity and look forward to developing future projects there. And to my new friends at Hulu, I look forward to our new partnership exploring the galaxy together,” said Seth MacFarlane. 

Cast and Producers Announce Return of Popular Series During Debut Panel at San Diego Comic Con

SAN DIEGO, CA July 20, 2019 – Ahead of its season one finale, AMC today announced that it has renewed supernatural horror series “NOS4A2” for a 10-episode second season. The series, which is based on the best-selling 2013 Joe Hill novel of the same name, made its Comic-Con debut today in San Diego where cast members Zachary Quinto and Ashley Cummings, showrunner and executive producer Jami O’Brien and executive producer Joe Hill shared the news of the renewal during the show’s panel. For the current television season, “NOS4A2” ranks as a Top 20 cable drama and the #2 new basic cable drama among adults 25-54 and 18-49 in Nielsen Live +3 viewing. The second season of “NOS4A2” will go into production this fall and will air on AMC in 2020.

“NOS4A2” centers on Vic McQueen (Cummings), a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with Charlie Manx (Quinto), a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic strives to defeat Manx and rescue his victims – without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself. The series also stars Jahkara Smith, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Virginia Kull and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
