The first season of SYFY’s scripted drama “SurrealEstate” is set to premiere Friday, July 16 at 10 p.m. EST.
 
The 10-episode, hour-long drama includes “Schitts Creek” alum Tim Rozon and Sarah Levy, Adam Korson, Maurice Dean Wint and Tennille Read.
 
In the season premiere of “SurrealEstate,” a team of eclectic real estate specialists handle the cases no one else can: haunted and possessed houses that literally scare would-be buyers away. Researching, investigating and “fixing” the things that go bump in the night, the team works to create closure—and closings -- even as they struggle with demons of their own.
 
“SurrealEstate” is produced by Blue Ice Pictures and George R. Olson serves as the executive producer and showrunner. Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, Armand Leo and Danishka Esterhazy also executive produce.
 
Melanie Scrofano is set to direct two episodes following her directorial debut in “Wynonna Earp” Season 4. She joins directors Paul Fox, Danishka Esterhazy and Paolo Barzman.

PEACOCK ANNOUNCES STRAIGHT TO SERIES ORDER OF NEW DRAMA ‘VAMPIRE ACADEMY’ FROM JULIE PLEC

• Peacock today announced a straight to series 10-episode order for VAMPIRE ACADEMY, from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group and executive producer Julie Plec (“The Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals”), which she is adapting with longtime collaborator Marguerite MacIntyre, who will also serve as executive producer and co-showrunner.
   
• From executive producer Julie Plec comes a story of romance, friendship, death, sex, and scandal. VAMPIRE ACADEMY is based on a series of young adult paranormal romance novels by international bestselling author Richelle Mead. In a world of privilege and glamour, two young women’s friendship transcends their strikingly different classes as they prepare to complete their education and enter royal vampire society. This serialized and sexy drama combines the elegance of aristocratic romance and the supernatural thrills of the vampire genre.

HBO Max debuted the official trailer and key art for FRIENDS: THE REUNION, debuting THURSDAY, MAY 27 on HBO Max. “Friends” stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer return to the iconic comedy’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank for a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show. 
 
Ben Winston directed the special and executive produced along with “Friends” executive producers Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane. The special hails from Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, Fulwell 73 Productions and Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions. Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, Perry, and Schwimmer executive produced the special. Emma Conway, James Longman and Stacey Thomas-Muir co-executive produced.

Craig Erwich, president, Hulu Originals & ABC Entertainment, today unveiled the ABC primetime schedule for the 2021-2022 season, featuring tentpole returning shows and bold, fresh new series. The network continues to deliver on its success as the season’s No. 1 entertainment network among Adults 18-49 for the second year in a row. This marks the first time the network has won back-to-back consecutive seasons in entertainment in 25 years. ABC also has three of the top five highest-rated entertainment series, the most for any network, with “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.”

Syfy's 'Resident Alien' Extends Its Stay on Earth with Season 2 Renewal

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – March 17, 2021 – SYFY’s hit series Resident Alien, one of the biggest cable success stories of the year, is returning for a second season.

The announcement was made by Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming.

“With Resident Alien, everything just came together in perfect harmony—a script by Chris Sheridan that leapt off the page, a lead performance by Alan Tudyk, whose nuance between comedy and menace was pitch perfect, and a team of producers, cast and crew who were all striving to do something great,” Katz said. “The appeal of this show transcended the sci-fi genre in a way that enabled us to bring in a broader audience, and as the series continues we hope to encourage more and more fans to discover Harry’s very particular perspective on humans.”

In its successful first season, Resident Alien is the most-watched new cable drama in the last year in total viewers and #2 in the 18-49 demo. It’s also SYFY’s highest-rated new drama in more than six years in total viewers and earns the second-biggest time-shifting gain for any cable drama in the last year in total viewers.
