Tonight, the second part of the Doctor Who premiere, “Skyfall: Part Two,” written by Chris Chibnall and directed by Lee Haven Jones, airs on BBC America. In the conclusion of the spy thriller, the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) has been separated from her friends, who must find their way without their leader. They must work from all sides to stop the Master, who always seems one step ahead, as humanity is about to be destroyed by the plan he has set in motion.

After last week’s episode, I was worried that part two couldn’t keep up the momentum it had built with the crazy reveal at the end. Thankfully it was for naught, as the story is filled with just as much action and adventure, and this time also some of the fantastic humor that the show is known for. I love that Chibnall is changing up the story and moving things in a brand-new direction. There is so much packed in the episode; they could have easily made a three-part premiere, considering each episode has a longer run time as well.

Today, the new series, which recently premiered on BBC One, Dracula, drops on Netflix. Created by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, the creepy retelling of the vampire tale follows Jonathan Harker (John Heffernan) in his account of becoming a prisoner of Count Dracula (Claes Bang) after coming to work for him in Transylvania. He recounts the events to Sister Agatha (Dolly Wells) from leaving the love of his fiancé, Mina, through his escape from the vampire.

The creators have managed to set the perfect atmosphere right from the beginning. The lighting, costumes, and the sets especially help to really transport you into Victorian times. The manor is gorgeous and creates an unsettling feeling with its many dark and winding stairs and hallways. Overall everything is very foreboding, and you never know what Harker will find around the corner.

The makeup effects are also very well done, and they did a fantastic job with changing Dracula and his victims in stages.

Quite a lot happened in tonight’s season premiere, and I absolutely loved it. The overall spy theme was quite fun, giving it a unique flair without being silly, and it just seemed very grand, from the locations to all the action sequences like the out of control killer car, the motorcycle chase, and jumping onto a moving plane. There was even a bomb. It was definitely fit for a premiere.

As always, the cast was superb. I appreciated how they first showed the companions and how they have been absent from their family and friends due to their travels with the Doctor. It’s also nice to get a bit of their lives away from her.

There was some great dialog between Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Ryan (Tosin Cole), and I really enjoyed them going undercover as journalist and photographer with their spy gadgets. Ryan was cute being nervous, and Yaz really took the reins, getting done what they had to do.

Tonight BBC America premieres season twelve of the hugely popular series Doctor Who, with part one of two entitled “Spyfall - Part One,” with the conclusion premiering on Sunday on both the network and in theaters. In the episode, intelligence agents from around the globe are being attacked by an alien race. MI6 is at a loss and turns to the only one who might be able to help, The Doctor (Jody Whittaker). Can Team TARDIS figure out the conspiracy and save the planet?

The episode, which was written by Chris Chibnall and Directed by Jamie Magnus Stone, guest stars Stephen Fry as head of MI6, Agent C, who recruits the team into the world of espionage, and Sir Lenny Henry CBE as Daniel Barton, head of tech company Vor. Also introduced is Sachs Dhawan as Agent O.

Today SerialBox released the final episode of season one of Orphan Black: The Next Chapter, by Malka Older.

I was curious to see how the story would be wrapped up in the last episode, and it does not disappoint.

One storyline focuses on Delphine and Cosima taking down General Eloise Thibault, who tries to blame the riot in the village on the clones. Ending with Cosima going live on television with Delphine to defend and then discuss the clones, was a great story point. I think in the end it will do Cosima a world of good to talk it out.

The other main story is of course Art’s rescue. I was pleased how everyone got involved, even Charlotte, and of course any time one clone pretends to be another is a lot of fun.

Serial Box released the new episode of Orphan Black: The Next Chapter a day early this week. The episode is titled, “Which Aspect We Embrace,” and was written by Michell Baker and E.C. Myers.

This week’s installment has three main storylines. The majority of the episode follows what happens in the Nasqwine’g village. Reinforcements arrive to help Kira and Em, and with their help, eventually they are able to stop the mosquito drones from killing most of the villagers. Kurzmann is also arrested.

The second storyline deals with Jay and Art, who go to meet with Davis, because Jay thinks that perhaps they can get some information from him. It backfires, and he and his men capture Art and send Jay back to the clones to trade Sturgis’s weapon for Art’s life.

Lastly, Charlotte finally admits to being the one who was responsible for the press finding out about clones.

Today Serial Box released the eighth episode of Orphan Black: The Next Chapter. The episode is titled “A Harvest of Survivors” and was written by Madeline Ashby.

Once I started it, I quickly realized that this was the episode I had been waiting for. It was so great to have Vivi meet the other clones in person and see everyone’s reactions. I was surprised Sarah took to her fairly quickly.

Maslany was, as always, brilliant in her reading, bringing all the characters to life. It’s easy to differentiate between clones by her voice, even without being able to see them.

Speaking of seeing them, there are so many wonderful scenes in this episode that I would love to be able to see on television. I can so easily envision Alison and Donnie in the sex club, which was so funny to hear about. All of the characters in the book continue to feel so much like the originals.

While the main part of the episode was dealing with the clones’ next step, another important part was, of course, Rachel’s meeting with Davis. I enjoyed her cunning, but was surprised and somewhat confused by her reaction to not wanting him to hurt Kira. I feel like there must be some story there that as a viewer (and reader) we haven’t been privy to that must have taken place between the series and the book. This ended up being the most intriguing part to me, because it was so unexpected.

Tonight, HBO premiered the third episode of His Dark Materials, titled “The Spies.” In the episode, Lyra (Dafne Keen) is rescued from the Gobblers by the Gyptians, who hope to interrogate her kidnapper as they continue to look for the children.

Meanwhile, Coulter (Ruth Wilson) visits Dr. Carne (Clarke Peters) for information, who although revealing he gave Lyra the alethiometer, won’t help Coulter locate her. After tearing the place apart for anything heretical, she and Boreal (Ariyon Bakare) extend their search.

Lyra agrees to stay with the Gyptians, but she only brings more trouble when magisterium officers are dispatched, and she has to hide. Not everyone is happy with harboring her, but eventually everyone is on the same page.

More secrets are revealed to Lyra, who also gains knowledge of the alethiometer, but it only brings unpleasant news when things go bad for the Gyptians.

Today, Serial Box released an all-new episode of Orphan Black: The Next Chapter, titled “Best Learn to Cope,” written by Lindsay Smith. After so much happened in the last episode, I was excited to know what would come next, probably the most about what would happen to Kira and Em. While there weren't as many revelations in this episode as some of the previous ones, there was a fair bit of action, and a good chunk of it was with the two girls. Kira really stepped up and made her own decisions about what she was willing to risk, which I appreciate. I also enjoyed getting to see someone new be brought into Clone Club in the way she told Em. She definitely had a different reaction than most people do. Their friendship and trust is becoming more important as the story goes on. I’m also interested in seeing if Sauveteer survives the trip to the hospital.

The other big section of the episode was Vivi trying to retrieve Cosima. I’m not sure she was doing it just to save her, as she had things to gain, but her impromptu mission with Jay was fun to see go down, and of course Vivi kicking ass is always entertaining. Her interactions with Jay on the earbud were also amusing.

Probably the main revelation we did get in the episode, however, is that the swarms of bugs, which seem to be the delivery system of the viruses, aren’t actually insects at all, but rather drones. However, I didn’t find that to be much of a surprise. It’s also obviously confirmed that Sauveteer and the clones in Boston were both attacked by the same people. There’s also the idea that Dana, or whichever clone first contracted the sickness, was originally bitten, since they both have a similar rash.

Good Boys is comedy that follows a trio of sixth grade boys, self-dubbed “The Beanbag Boys,” in their adventures. Max (Jacob Tremblay), who seems the most eager to grow up, thinks he’s in love with his classmate Brixlee (Millie Davis). Thor (Brady Noon) loves to sing and dreams of leading the school musical, Rock of Ages, until he’s teased by the popular kids. Lucas (Keith Williams) just wants his parents to stay together.

When Max is invited by a popular boy (Izaac Wang) to a “kissing party” where Brixlee will be, he desperately wants to learn how to kiss. At his friends’ insistence he decides to borrow his father (Will Forte)’s drone, which he’s been specifically told not to, to spy on his teenage neighbor Hannah (Molly Gordon) in the hope of seeing her and her boyfriend (Josh Caras) lock lips. What they get is a lot more than they bargained for when she and her friend Lily (Midori Francis) take the drone and won’t give it back.

In retaliation, the boys steal one of the girl’s purses and the girls give chase. In the interim the drone is destroyed and the boys skip school to somehow get a replacement before Max’s father returns home.

What follows is a quest involving accidentally stolen drugs and a bunch of wacky mishaps and bad language as they head to the mall while running from the girls.
